Waiver Policy
The Annals of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ACGH) strives to support equitable access to publication by offering waivers of up to 50% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) for authors from under-resourced institutions. We evaluate waiver requests on a case-by-case basis, prioritizing fairness without compromising editorial independence. The ability—or inability—to pay has no influence on peer review outcomes.
Eligibility for Waiver
- Authors from Low-Income and Lower-Middle-Income countries, as classified by the World Bank
- Individuals facing genuine financial constraints that could impede publication
The maximum waiver offered is 50% of the APC.
How to Apply
Waiver requests must be submitted by the corresponding author at the time of manuscript submission or when payment is requested upon acceptance. Applications should include:
- Manuscript ID or provisional reference number
- Brief justification for financial support
- Affiliation and country of corresponding author
Editors review waiver requests independently of peer review processes to ensure objectivity.
Key Considerations
- Requests should be made in advance—upon submission or payment step
- Waivers are discretionary and based on genuine need without compromising journal standards
- Editorial decisions remain independent of financial considerations
