Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Annals of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ACGH) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing and follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All research published in this journal must comply with ethical guidelines for human and animal research. Authors must provide evidence of ethical approval where appropriate.
We have zero tolerance for publication malpractice including plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and inappropriate authorship. All submitted manuscripts are screened for potential misconduct.
Duties
- Authors: Responsible for originality, data integrity, appropriate citations, approvals/consents, and transparent disclosures (including data and code availability where applicable).
- Editors: Ensure fair and unbiased evaluation of manuscripts, manage conflicts of interest, handle appeals, corrections, and retractions, and maintain confidentiality of the review process.
- Reviewers: Provide objective and constructive feedback, ensure timely and confidential reviews, declare conflicts, and avoid use of privileged information.
- Publisher: Upholds editorial independence, maintains the scholarly record, and supports post-publication corrections and ethics investigations.
Misconduct Handling
Allegations are investigated in line with COPE guidance. Outcomes may include corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, with notices linked to the record of publication. See also our Publication Ethics Policy.
