Effect of combined linagliptin and metformin on liver enzymes in high-fat diet/streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. (A) Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), (B) Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and (C) Alkaline phosphatase (ALP). Treatment significantly reduced liver enzyme levels in diabetic rats, indicating hepatic protective effects of the combined therapy. Values are expressed as mean ± SEM (n = 8). Ysignificant at p < 0.05 compared with control; Gsignificant at p < 0.05 compared with untreated diabetic group; Qsignificant at p < 0.05 compared linagliptin and metformin-alone treated diabetic groups.
